A couple series, older, that I enjoyed as a child and that I have enjoyed rereading to my children: Walter Brooks Freddy the Pig series for 4th grade, Baum’s Wizard of Oz series is actually pretty good, and the books of Joseph Altsheler, that are wonderful for boys fifth or sixth grade, of which I have read The Texas Ranger series and The Young Trailers.
